The OpenDollar front-end retrieves certain public-facing data through the OpenDollar Bot API. This API provides various endpoints, some of which necessitate authorization via a secret token. Currently, this token is transmitted as a URL query parameter, posing a risk as it could potentially be cached by server logs and proxy servers, thereby exposing the token to anyone with access to these logs. At present, the endpoints requiring authorization are solely utilized for staging purposes. Nonetheless, this approach should be reconsidered should the OpenDollar team opt to introduce similar functionality in a production environment. ``` export function middleware(request) { const authHeader = request.headers.get("authorization"); if (authHeader && authHeader !== `Bearer ${process.env.CRON_SECRET}`) { return new Response("Unauthorized", { status: 401, }); } else if (request.query.secret !== process.env.RATE_SECRET) { return new Response("Unauthorized", { status: 401, }); } } export const config = { matcher: "/(/api/(?!graphql|screen).*)", }; ```
